About Soul Food

You know, we live in such a fast-paced world that every thing we do seems to be “on the run.”

Especially that goes for our diets. And it’s not like we don’t know that fast food is not good for us. What we do know is that we are hungry…and though we know the value of a good old-fashioned sit down meal…we just don’t have time.

But I contend that when we finally get our bellies full of “junk” food…and for whatever the circumstance that brings it to place, a time will come when we do sit down to real, home-cooking…SOUL FOOD…and we are so in awe of what we’ve been missing that we ask ourselves, “WHY??? Why did I settle for anything less?”

I think it’s the same with what we need to “feed our soul.” We get so busy being busy…and we run from here to there…and there to here…that we just don’t take time to nurture the very core of our being.

When we finally do come to the place, no matter what circumstances took us there, where we are fed something REAL…we wonder why again that we ever settled for less.

God longs for us to “come and dine” at His table. To indulge in the FOOD that our SOULS so desperately need and crave. Why not taste and see that the Lord is good!

So many people don’t know that true soul food feeds the soul. You can eat all the food you want and still not be full. God’s food will always fill you up .
